Thanks Jill. Holding space for someone who means the world to me is still a relatively new concept for me. Normally, I’d want to step in and make all the bad stuff go away for them, but I can’t always do that, and they may not even want me to.
It took me a long time to realize that sometimes all we really want is to be heard and held. I may not be able to make the thunder go away, but I can sit with them and hold them close until the storm passes. :)
I felt this. You capture cracks and depths in your poetry. Lots between the lines. Hard stuff and yet, light.
